Cassandra (Cassie) Walker is a Black Queer Non-Binary Licensed Clinical Social Worker, therapist, activist, speaker, gamer, writer, and podcaster.
They provide therapy to adults, relationships and groups. They specialize in the intersections of trauma, identity, and mental wellness. This includes knowledgeable and affirming services for those who practice BDSM, Kink, Non-monogamy and African Traditional Spiritualities (i.e Ifa).
In their therapy work, Cassie takes an decolonial liberatory approach to discussing identity, trauma, mental wellness and justice to address how the legacies of slavery and other atrocities and oppression continue to ripple into current events and experience. From the levels of societal institutions to our internal experiences, Cassie recognizes that we will engage our survival styles, getting stuck in and perpetuating cycles of oppression and pain unless we work to change and embrace compassion, community, accountability, and authenticity.
Cassie holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Comparative Human Development. They are a Liberatory and Decolonial Healer. Cassie is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level 3 NARM Trained, a Certified NARM Therapist and are also Certified in Hypnotherapy and NLP.
Cassie presents and teaches on a diverse array of topics related to trauma, race, gender, sexuality, relationship modalities, BDSM and kink, mental health, workplace culture, organizational change, gaming, liberation and decolonization.
Their podcast Woke Mental Wellness works to help provided information about mental wellness to Black LGBTQIA+ people and those interested in helping Black Queer communities.
Through providing therapy, educating and facilitating, Cassie hopes to help people open themselves and their organizations to changes that improve personal awareness and institutional inclusion.
